About Us

Homeowner Association Services is a full service management company serving the Greater East Bay Area. We manage common interest developments, including condominiums, townhouses, planned unit developments, and commercial associations. Tom Bantz and Randy Ritter, partners with Homeowner Association Services, have a combined of thirty years experience in managing real estate. The last fourteen years have been managing homeowner associations. The principals are personally involved in the management of various sizes and types of community associations.

Professionally affiliated with Community Associations Institute (CAI), the company prides itself on a professional environment, which adds value to the development of community association principles and procedures. Our Objective is to enhance the value and livability of common interest communities and to deliver leadership, expertise, and follow-through to boards of directors in their governance of associations.

As one of the owners of Homeowner Association Services, Tom Bantz has built a strong reputation as one of the top managers in the Bay Area over the past 14 years. Tom has experience in managing and handling every aspect of association management, personally taking ownership of all issues relating to his client associations. Tom has the ability to see the important issues in situations and presents solutions to drive to closure. Tom is a graduate of Wittenberg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Political Science. He worked for twelve years in various managerial positions with Procter and Gamble and American Hospital Supply.

Randy Ritter joined Tom as partner in Homeowner Association Services after twenty three years of Operational and Financial management experience with Allegiance Healthcare. Randy has extensive experience directing and managing over 20 facilities requiring thorough knowledge of property issues including Heating and Air Conditioning, Landscaping, Roofing, and Security. Randy's background also includes vast experience in dealing with and handling challenging "people" issues. Randy's financial experience includes Profit and Loss responsibility, Budget and Forecasting, and Capital Planning. Randy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University.

Barbara Dawson joined Tom and Randy after eight years with another homeowner association management company.  She has experience in all aspects of association management, including administrative, maintenance, customer service, and the unique day-to-day operational needs of homeowners associations.  Barbara graduated from San Diego State University, earning a bachelor of Science degree in Social Science.

Brian Ritter joined the firm in 2001 after spending time in the marketing and operational fields. Brian graduated from the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
